England - North York Moors to Scarborough

The early Helmsley church was rebuilt in Romanesque style as you see here with the rounded arches at the south doorway and the chancel. A 'hogback' gravestone is on display that dates back to the 900s and is carved with traditional Viking interlace patterns.
